Something about summertime screams romance. Anne and Jake’s outdoor engagement portraits overlooking Lake Erie really drive my point home.  The vibrant shades of green across the foliage of the trees that lend their shade to the thick, lush lawn combined with stunning views of the lake epitomize summer romance. I had the pleasure of capturing these two truly in their element at the same location where they’ll soon exchange vows.  The love they share is reminiscent of what some only experience on a screen & I thoroughly enjoyed getting to document their playful dynamic in celebration of their upcoming nuptials.

Nestled on a private property overlooking Lake Erie in Erie, Pennsylvania, Anne & Jake’s engagement session felt like a summertime dream. The towering trees provided shade and the harbor full of sailboats created a picturesque backdrop for their candid engagement session. The location holds even greater significance as the place where they’ll soon say, “I do.” This detail combined with Anne’s wardrobe choice  added a layer of romantic foreshadowing to their photos that simply can’t be replicated!

Given the time of year and setting, Anne and Jake couldn’t have chosen more fitting pieces for their Erie, PA engagement photos.  Barefoot and carefree, Anne wore a white linen dress that moved effortlessly in the summer breeze, while Jake kept it classic in a crisp blue button-down. Their relaxed style perfectly mirrored the warm, laid-back vibe of the day. Speaking of keeping on brand– this couple was completely at ease during our session and they were perfectly playful.  When my couples are as serene & in love as these two, it makes the candid shots so much simpler to achieve!

From the very first click of the camera, Anne & Jake’s connection was undeniable. They made the most of their afternoon together with breathtaking views of Lake Erie. Jake twirled a barefoot Anne in the grass. They ran hand-in-hand across the lush, green yard and stole several playful kisses from each other.  At the end of the session, they  shared a celebratory bottle of champagne and radiated contagious joy all the while!  My approach is always to allow my couples to simply be themselves. When we create space for authentic moments to unfold naturally, it pays off tenfold.
